To enhance the quality of life for persons with Down syndrome by promoting inclusive environments as well as advocating respect, dignity, and appropriate supports for people with Down syndrome to ensure that the world sees them as we do – Equal.
A world where full inclusion is a reality rather than a goal.
TVDSA was founded in the early 1980s by Billie Paetel. With the help of other parents who had children with Down syndrome, their goal was to provide support and information, especially to new parents. We are managed by a volunteer board of directors that is guided by our members. We are funded by community support, grants, and our annual events.
Our flagship programs are volunteer-managed clubs that provide an opportunity for recreation and networking.
We host a number of fun & informative events year-round, to provide families an opportunity to meet.
Our free monthly newsletter contains helpful resources, inspirational stories, and a local calendar of events.
"TVDSA has provided us with a network of knowledge, support, and friends. We are so grateful for everything we have gained."
"Finding a community of support and friendship through TVDSA has been one great and unexpected blessing our boys have given us."
"TVDSA has been an incredible source of community for our family. Through their programs and events, we've connected with so many others."
